Falesie - Cliffs

Dopo le Havre inizia un tratto di costa straordinario che si estende per 130 km. Alte falesie barrano l’avanzata all’oceano e si oppongono all’impeto del vento; questa lotta ci ha lasciato visioni uniche , guglie, archi, grotte, diedri scolpiti, incisioni che guardano spiagge di rotondi ciottoli levigati dalle onde. Solo i fiumi sono riusciti a scavare dei varchi su queste pareti e proprio qui troviamo i pittoreschi paesi come Etretat, Fecamp, Yport, Dieppie e altri ancora. Grazie al sentiero costiero possiamo scoprire ogni più intima piega di questo ineguagliabile e onirico paesaggio. Non è un caso che pittori e scrittori si siano ispirati immergendosi in questi paesaggi unici illuminati da una luce fantastica.

Étretat e quella che mi ha colpito, suggestionato di più, è incastonata fra le due scogliere, la Falaise d’Amont e la Falaise d’Aval: con il suo panorama mozzafiato che mi ha lasciato senza parole. Residenza di personaggi celebri come Guy de Maupassant, Corot, Coubert e Monet, questa cittadina sembra uscire direttamente da un quadro impressionista dell’800, grazie al suo fascino retrò e ai suoi colori pastello.

After Le Havre begins an extraordinary stretch of coast that extends for 130 km. High cliffs bar the advance of the ocean and oppose the force of the wind; this struggle has left us unique visions, spiers, arches, caves, carved dihedrals, engravings that look at beaches of round pebbles smoothed by the waves. Only the rivers have managed to dig holes in these walls and right here we find the picturesque villages such as Etretat, Fecamp, Yport, Dieppie and others. Thanks to the coastal path we can discover every most intimate fold of this unparalleled and dreamlike landscape. It is no coincidence that painters and writers were inspired by immersing themselves in these unique landscapes illuminated by fantastic light.

Étretat and the one that struck me, impressed the most, is nestled between the two cliffs, the Falaise d'Amont and the Falaise d'Aval: with its breathtaking view that left me speechless. Residence of famous personalities such as Guy de Maupassant, Corot, Coubert and Monet, this town seems to come straight out of an impressionist painting of the 1800s, thanks to its retro charm and pastel colors.
